The summer solstice marks the beginning of summer and the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. It is when the golden rays of the sun kiss our skin, reminding us to embrace our utmost radiance. It is when we plant flowers and pick the ripened fruits from the trees placed at the start of the season. It is a day filled with such life that we are able to gather all of the hidden pieces of ourselves from past seasons and release them softly for the entire world to see.
Living on the East Coast taught me the beauty in the changes that come with every season. I discovered a new meaning to life when I came to the realization that I can always begin again. I am allowed to welcome a new version of myself when a new season emerges and redefine what is necessary to discover my full potential. I am able to uncover love hidden in every moment of my life. I am reminded that I have come all this way for a reason, and it was to discover beauty in a season that holds power in both the beginning and in the end.
The summer solstice marked the beginning of falling in love with my own life again. I slowly began to reveal the pieces of myself that were once concealed during the colder months. Love overflowed from my heart when I surrounded myself with those who nourished my soul. Radiance glimmered from my skin when I learned to love and appreciate my reflection in the mirror. Happiness revealed itself when I recognized the familiar sparkle coming back into my eyes. When even the smallest things brought excitement and an opportunity to express my gratitude, I knew that my life was beginning to feel as bright as the sun again.
I hope you learn to spend more time with yourself. To find awareness in your emotional state, enjoyment in your surroundings, and belonging with your loved ones. This will guide you to your true self, and this is worth more than anything that the world could ever offer to you. It is the beauty in each season that helps us remember what we had endured all of the changes for, and I hope you remember that it is never too late to begin again to make your life a well-lived journey.
